UPDATE: A child enticement report made Wednesday did not occur, investigators say.

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil announced Thursday that the enticement reported by a 10-year-old boy in Miamitown was unfounded.
"As a result of an investigation completed by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section, it has been determined that this allegation was unfounded. The incident did not occur and was fabricated by a scared 10 year old child," a news release from the sheriff's office said.
No criminal charges will be filed. Neil said the matter will be dealt with by the child’s family.

(Miamitown, Oh.) - A 10-year-old child reported a possible abduction attempt near Miamitown Elementary School Wednesday morning.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says the child enticement case was reported at around 8:25 a.m.
A boy was walking down the street near the intersection of West Mill and Hill streets -- just a couple blocks from the school -- when he was approached by an older male operating a rusty, green-colored van. The man asked the child if he wanted a ride. After telling the man no, the child was offered candy if he got into the vehicle.
The child told the suspect that he was going to call police. The van then fled the area.
