Sentencing Hearing Set After Brookville Man Pleads Guilty to Causing Deadly Crash

(Brookville, Ind.) – A Brookville man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a deadly crash in July of 2021.

Joshua Trammell, 44, allegedly was under the influence of amphetamine and methamphetamine at the time of the crash that killed 46-year-old Virginia Fasbinder.

Trammell was originally charged with Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony; Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death, a Level 4 Felony; Reckless Homicide, a Level 5 Felony; Illegal Possession of a Syringe, a Level 6 Felony; and Habitual Offender, sentence enhancement.

On Tuesday, Trammell pleaded guilty to Causing Death when Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance Causing Death (Level 4 Felony) and a Habitual Offender sentence enhancement.

The remaining charges were dropped due to the plea agreement.

Sentencing is set for March 1 at 9:00 a.m.

Trammell faces up to 32 years in prison.
