Semi Driver Dies In Fiery Crash On I-71 Near Carrollton

The accident occurred Wednesday near the 47 mile marker.

(Carrollton, Ky.) - A Louisville man was killed in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 71 near Carrollton. 

Kentucky State Police say Darren Montgomery, 50 was southbound on I-71 when he lost control of his semi and crashed into a bridge rail before near mile marker 47.

The impact of the crash caused Montgomery's semi to overturn. It also caught fire. 

The fire was extinguished at which time the driver was found deceased inside the vehicle.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
