(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – You can safely and responsibly get rid of unwanted prescription drugs this weekend.
The 17th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at dozens of locations.
Designated drop off locations include the following:
- Kroger stores in Lawrenceburg, Burlington, Walton, and Florence,
- Indiana State Police Versailles Post,
- Hamilton County Harrison Township community building on New Haven Road,
- Miami Township Fire Department on Shady Lane,
- Florence Police Department on Ewing Boulevard.
Organizers say the event will keep opioids and other drugs out of abusers’ hands.
“Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet,” said Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter. “Proper disposal safeguards against accidental exposure, diversion, or access to prescription medication for misuse.”
