The funding will further help Safe Passage with assisting domestic violence victims.
(Batesville, Ind.) – Safe Passage, Inc. is the recipient of a generous grant through the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) program.
The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute awarded a total of $500,000 to 28 domestic violence shelters in Indiana.
Safe Passage was awarded $20,000 to provide overnight stay and shelter nights that will help the organization provide safety and supportive programming to domestic violence victims and their children in Dearborn, Ohio, Franklin, Ripley, Switzerland, and Jefferson counties.
“Supporting victim-serving organizations is foundational to our agency’s mission,” said Devon McDonald, ICJI Executive Director. “These grants will better position Indiana’s domestic violence shelters to meet the needs of survivors across the state.”
Since Safe Passage’s inception in 1997, the non-profit organization has helped more than 14,000 victims of abuse.
