(Boone County, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a rolling roadblock on Interstates 275, I-71/75 and I-71 in Boone County on Thursday, Dec. 19. Traffic will be temporarily slowed down and, at times, stopped to allow crews space to patch potholes. This project will improve safety on the area interstates.

Crews will be patching potholes in various locations between the overnight working hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Once work is completed in one location, crews will move to the next location on the list below.

Schedule of Work (Tentative)

  • I-275 westbound from the Boone/Kenton County line (mile point 1.59) to Idlewild Bypass (KY 3608) (mile point 11.52), a distance of 9.93 miles. Crews will also patch potholes on off-ramps.
  • I-275 eastbound between Graves Road (KY 495) (mile point 8.5) and North Bend Road (KY 237) (mile point 6.79), a distance of 1.71 miles.
  • I-71/75 southbound on the bridge deck over Turfway Road (KY 1017) (mile point 182.42)
  • I-71/75 northbound on the bridge deck over Turfway Road (KY 1017) (mile point 182.42)
  • I-71 northbound from the Boone/Gallatin County line (mile point 69.91) to the I-71 and I-75 split (mile point 76.67), a distance of 6.76 miles.
  • I-71 southbound from the I-71 and I-75 split (mile point 76.67) to the Boone/Gallatin County line (mile point 69.91), a distance of 6.76 miles

The pothole patching project will improve safety throughout these highly traveled corridors.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, and to find an alternate route during these hours to avoid delays.

Weather permitting, this pothole patching project should be completed by Friday, Dec. 20 at 6 a.m.
