(Ripley County, Ind.) – A Ripley County man has been jailed on two counts of rape and two counts of incest.

An investigation began in February 2024 when suspected criminal activity was reported to the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post.

During the course of the investigation, investigators obtained information that Joel Stoltzfus, 42, of Holton, had allegedly committed crimes of rape and incest at a location in Christian County, Kentucky.

Investigators say the alleged crimes took place on at least two occasions between 2005 and 2008 when the victim was a juvenile.

A warrant for Stoltzfus was issued on August 7 and he was arrested last Thursday and incarcerated in Ripley County Jail.

He is awaiting extradition to Christian County.
