Ripley Co. Woman Facing Theft, Corrupt Business Charges

(Ripley County, Ind.) – An arrest has been made in Ripley County after a year-long investigation by the Indiana State Police with assistance from the FBI.

Jennifer Fullenkamp, 61, was arrested on Friday on Theft and Corrupt Business Influence (Level 5 felonies).

State Police detectives began investigating Fullenkamp when her employer, Scheele Orthodontics noticed significant amounts of money or payments from patients were missing and/or unaccounted for.

According to a news release, thousands of missing dollars dated back several years while Fullenkamp was employed there.

A probable cause affidavit showed that Fullenkamp enticed patients to pay in cash and gave substantial discounts if they did, while not being authorized by Dr. Sheele. Fullenkamp allegedly kept the cash and adjusted balances in the database.

She is scheduled to make her first appearance in Ripley County Court today at 3:00 p.m.

A Level 5 felony carries a penalty of 1-6 years behind bars. The theft count was elevated to a Level 5 due to it being in excess of $50,000.
