Ripley Co. Health Department Announces Red Level Restrictions

The placement of restrictions for Ripley County will utilize a staggered approach to assist with the mitigation of the rapid spread of COVID-19.

(Ripley County, Ind.) - It is the duty of the Ripley County Health Officer to keep our community safe by providing county specific mitigation efforts in response to the county level COVID-19 health assessment established by the Indiana Department of Health. As of 11/18/2020, Ripley County’s assessment level, issued by the Indiana Department of Health, has been elevated from level orange to level red. Due to this elevation in level, along with the recent surge in positive COVID-19 cases, the Ripley County Health Officer David J. Welsh, MD, has set forth the below restrictions that are in addition to the Indiana Governor Executive Order 20-48.

The placement of restrictions for Ripley County will utilize a staggered approach to assist with the mitigation of the rapid spread of COVID-19 within Ripley County. Case counts within Ripley County will be monitored and reviewed on a weekly basis to determine if modifications to the restrictions is warranted.

Food Service

 ▪ Food establishments shall maintain a 50% maximum occupancy & Bars shall maintain a 25% maximum occupancy, those at the bar must be seated, with 6’ social distancing required.

▪ 6-foot separation of seating is required for all food establishments.

▪ No more than one household at a socially distanced table is allowed.

▪ No Buffets permitted or self-service drink stations.

▪ Carry out/curbside pickup only is highly recommended. ▪ Restricted hours of operation are under consideration as of 11/19/2020 and will be reviewed on a weekly basis.

▪ No Ripley County temporary food permits will be issued until further notice.

Personal Service

▪ Physical fitness class sizes should be limited to maintain social distancing.

▪ Equipment must be spaced to accommodate 6-foot social distancing and sanitized after each use.

▪ Salons must close waiting room areas and have clients only enter at scheduled appointment time, no more than one client per stylist at a time.

Entertainment 

▪ Movie theaters will be contacted individually to review circumstances.

Other

▪ It is highly recommended offices are to be open to the public by appointment only.

▪ It also highly recommended that employees work from home if possible.
