Ripley Co. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Announces Bid for Superior Court Judge

(Versailles, Ind.) - Ripley County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Shane Tucker has announced that he is running for Ripley County Superior Court Judge.

He will run for the Republican Party nomination in the May 5, 2026 primary election.

Tucker has served as Chief Deputy Prosecutor since 2015 and, prior to his promotion, was a Deputy Prosecutor since 2012. During his time with the Prosecutor’s Office, Tucker has successfully handled thousands of criminal and civil cases. 

“I’m running for Superior Court Judge, because nothing is more important to me than ensuring our county is safe for our families. As a hard-working common-sense conservative, strong supporter of fiscal responsibility, and fierce defender of law and order, I am absolutely committed to improving our community’s safety, ensuring fairness and justice for all who come before the court, and protecting our county’s small-town values.”

Tucker is a 2005 graduate of Batesville High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Prior to that, Tucker received his bachelor’s degree in American History with Honors from Indiana University in 2009. Tucker belongs to multiple professional legal organizations and has served as a Board Member for Safe Passage, Inc., a domestic violence treatment facility located in Ripley County
