(Dillsboro, Ind.) - Fun, food and festival activities are on the agenda next week at the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival, an annual street fair named a “Grand Champion Event” four times by the Indiana Association of County and District Fairs.

The festival begins Wednesday, May 16 and continues through Saturday, May 19 in downtown Dillsboro. Admission is free.

An annual tradition in this small town located off U.S. 50, the Dillsboro Festival is known for its crazy contests, including popular frog jumping and best-dressed frog competitions, baby contest, and more.  Other festival favorites include carnival rides and games, food booths, 5K Run/Walk, beer garden, and pedal tractor pulls.  A large parade – complete with marching bands and floats – has also been planned for Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.

Attendees will find lots of live entertainment on the schedule this year, with Jackwagon scheduled to perform Wednesday night, the Skallywags on Thursday, Brutally Handsome (music of the Eagles) on Friday, and Madman Across the Water/Still Rock ‘n Roll Band (Elton John/Billy Joel tribute) on Saturday.

As always, the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival offers free admission.  For more information or a complete schedule of events, follow the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival on Facebook, visit our online Calendar of Events at www.visitsoutheastindiana.com or follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/visitsoutheastindiana
