(Undated) - If you currently watch TV with an antenna, then today is an important day for you.

Today is popularly known as 'Rescan Day'. This mean that the channels that you love watching through your antenna will change to new digital frequencies.

After 10 AM, today, you will need be making sure to update your TV by administering a scan of channels.

This will not affect those that receive their channels through cable or satellite.

The Federal Communications Commission explains that changing frequencies will help open up airwaves for new high-speed wireless services.

Although this is a relatively simple task, it is quite important so that you will be able to keep your favorite channels.

To rescan your TV, you can select the "scan" or "auto-tune" option available from the "menu" or "set-up" button on your TV remote control.
