(Undated) - CarInsuranceComparison.com ranks Kentucky as the seventh most dangerous driving state.
Analysts with the website say the ratings detailed in a new report are based on statistics for highway accidents, road fatalities, traffic tickets, careless driving rankings, drunk driving citations, and citations for failure to obey traffic signs. The data was compiled from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, American Motorists Association, and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
The rankings largely blames drunk drivers plus lax driving rules for the Bluegrass State's high ranking.
In the same report, Ohio was ranked as having among the best drivers at 41st. Indiana was 31st.
The most dangerous state for driving is Montana, followed by Louisiana and South Carolina.
