Regions Lowest Airfare Prices Remain At CVG

These prices are 5% lower than the national average.

(Hebron, Ky.) - If you enjoy traveling, then you are living in the right place.

The U.S. Department of Transportation released the 2019 second quarter airfare rankings, and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) continues to have the lowest airfares in the region. 

The average airfare at CVG is $346, which is 5% lower than the national airfare average of $364. 

Some regional comparisons from the CVG summary report are:

  • Indianapolis (IND) – average fare $363
  • Columbus (CMH) – average fare $364
  • Louisville (SDF) – average fare $387
  • Lexington (LEX) – average fare $407
  • Dayton (DAY) – average fare $438

In CVG's 72 years of serving local passengers, the airport set records 16 of the last 17 months (through September 2019).

There has been consistent growth at CVG for the past 5 years. The airport has seen an increase of passengers every month, including an all-time record in June 2019 with 426,246 local passengers.
