(Aurora, Ind.) - In partnership with Walmart, the Dearborn County Recycling Center's Creation Station spent Saturday, July 26, at Walmart to collect donations of school supplies for the teachers of Dearborn County.

The event aimed to help local teachers who spend their own money to decorate and buy extra supplies for their classrooms. Even though parents send in school supplies in August, many items like markers and glue sticks are used up by the holidays.

The Creation Station provides supplies to teachers free of charge through donations fro area residents and businesses.

Thanks to generous shoppers, Creation Station was able to collect close to 200 lbs of school supplies at Walmart. All of the donated items will be given to teachers in Dearborn County Schools.

If you missed the Fill the Van Event at Walmart, but would still like to donate supplies, you can drop them off in the DCRC Drive-Thru. The items that are requested the most are glue sticks, pencils, markers, composition notebooks, ruled paper, and dry-erase markers.
