(Hamilton County, Oh.) - According to Hamilton County Public Health (HCPH), the sewage leak that affected the Whitewater River and parts of the Great Miami River has been resolved.
HCPH reported in August that raw sewage discharge was affecting the Whitewater River in Connersville, Indiana following recent storms and flooding. That prompted health officials to urge individuals to avoid contact with the downriver Whitewater and Great Miami rivers.
As of this week, the wastewater treatment plant in Connersville has been repaired, and the immediate impact from the sewage discharge has passed. For these reasons, HCPH is no longer advising people to avoid recreational activities in these waterways.
