(Green Township, Oh.) - A big rate hike could be coming for some customers of Greater Cincinnati Water Works.
Cincinnati City Council may vote to increase rates for Water Works customers in Hamilton County villages and townships by 18 percent, reports WCPO-9.
That type of increase could result in a $40-50 increase on residents’ water bills.
The city manager cites greater expenses to provide service to those customers.
Hamilton County Commissioners are not the decision maker, but the board does oppose the rate increase. Commissioner Todd Portune calls in unfair and inequitable.
Some residents of the affected communities have also expressed their disapproval of a rate hike, citing other recent increases.
