Indiana State Police say the victim was walking in the middle of the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons Monday morning.

(Aurora, Ind.) - It was an Aurora man who was hit and killed as he walked on U.S. 50 near Sycamore Estates Drive early Monday.
Indiana State Police say Nicholas A. Crum, 31, was walking in the middle of the eastbound lanes for an unknown reason just after 3:00 a.m. That’s when a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Rodney Beach, 53, of Aurora, struck Crum.
Crum was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dearborn County coroner.
Troopers say Beach and a witness both stopped at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. Toxicology tests are pending as the investigation is ongoing.
U.S. 50 was closed in the area for approximately three hours for the crash investigation, ISP said.
State police were assisted by the Aurora Police Department, Aurora Fire and EMS, and Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.
