Physical Altercation Leads to Deadly Shooting in Florence

The suspect was arrested early Sunday morning.

(Florence, Ky.) – One person is dead following a shooting in northern Kentucky.

Florence Police responded to Winthrop Circle on Saturday around 9:30 p.m. in reference to an active fight and shots fired.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a male, identified as Dan Likiko, 21, of Florence, with several gunshot wounds while seated in his vehicle.

Likiko was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a physical altercation with individuals on Wintergreen Court that led to the shots being fired.

Wayne Haggard, 38, of Florence, was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody early Sunday morning.

Haggard is lodged in the Boone County Detention Center on one count of Murder.
