(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A restaurant barge on the Ohio River has performed a disappearing act.
The Tiki Bar barge at Riverwatch Restaurant in Lawrenceburg is believed to have sank over the weekend, said Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun. The sunken barge housed the restaurant's outdoor bar.
The main barge where most of Riverwatch's restaurant is housed remains afloat. The Riverwatch Restaurant has not yet opened for the 2018 season.
The Ohio River rose to 52.3 feet – just above flood stage of 52 feet – on Saturday and Sunday. The water level has lowered to about 50 feet Monday morning.
The City of Lawrenceburg had owned the barge for years, but Mollaun said Sunday the city no longer owns it.
Restaurant ownership was not immediately reachable for comment.
