(Florence, Ky.) – One person is in custody following a bank robbery in Florence.
According to Florence Police, a male entered the Fifth Third Bank on Burlington Pike around 5:00 p.m. Thursday and displayed a note to a teller demanding all the money.
Upon taking cash from the teller, the suspect fled the bank on foot and was observed running across Burlington Pike onto Hopeful Church Road.
The suspect, later identified as Lloyd Owens, 41, of Louisville, was found in the rear parking lot of Kerry Hyundai, and was found in possession of the stolen cash.
Owens was taken into custody and transported to the Boone County Detention Center.
While being transported, Owens allegedly made threats toward an officer.
Owens is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest.
