(Ripley County, Ind.) - Indiana State Police-Versailles Post responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 74 in northern Ripley County on Monday afternoon.

The accident took place around 2:30 p.m. near the 153-mile marker.

The initial investigation indicated that a silver 2002 Mercury passenger car, being driven by Darla S. Tabor, age 68, Hamilton, Ohio was traveling eastbound on I-74, approximately three miles east of Batesville. For an unknown reason, Tabor lost control of the vehicle, which left the south side of the road and overturned.

Tabor was transported to an area hospital where she passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash although toxicology results are pending.  Investigators believe that a medical condition may have played a role in the crash.

The evidence at the scene indicated that Tabor was not properly restrained in the vehicle which likely contributed to the injuries sustained.
