Ohio County Elementary, Middle Schools to Host Thanksgiving Food Drive

All donated items will go to a local food pantry.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Ohio County Elementary and Ohio County Middle School will host a Thanksgiving Food Drive November 10-14.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to send items in with students. There will be collection boxes in each homeroom. The top three classes will earn a special treat.

Donations may also be dropped off at the Elementary/Middle School or your local pantry.

Items needed are:

  • Stuffing mix, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey, and apple pie.

All items will be donated to the school’s local food pantry.

"During times of uncertainty, many of our students and families rely on food assistance to help meet their basic needs. With the ongoing government shutdown and the possibility of benefits being interrupted in November, we expect a greater demand for support from our local food pantry," reads a statement from Rising Sun - Ohio County Schools.
