(Ohio County, Ind.) - Hoosiers over 70 years of age, health care workers and first responders are currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. This group will include others as vaccine shipments increase. Currently, the Ohio County Health Department is receiving very small allotments and distributing these by appointment at weekly shot clinics. Those seeking the vaccine are encouraged to get it in your county of residence as county allotments are based on population.

You must have an appointment to receive a vaccine and register at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211. We encourage anyone having difficulty registering to seek assistance from a family member or friend, as the county health departments cannot make appointments at this time.

If you have general questions about COVID-19, please go to coronavirus.in.gov. Most questions can be answered by visiting this site. The Ohio County Health Department is receiving a large volume of calls as well as giving vaccinations off site, and may not be able to answer your call. You can leave a message, but be aware that return calls may be delayed.

COVID-19 shot clinics are being held at the Rising Sun Church of Christ on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment to those eligible for the vaccine.
