NASHVILLE - Northern Kentucky's own Carly Pearce was among the award winners at Wednesday's CMA Awards in Music City.

The Taylor Mill native nearly fell out of her seat when she was announced the winner of Female Vocalist of the Year.

Pearce beat out Gabby Barrett, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, and Maren Morris to win the award.

The Award is based on individual musical performance on a solo Country single or album release, as well as the overall contribution to Country Music.

Pearce has had quite the year. In August, she was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry by Dolly Parton and was inducted by Trisha Yearwood.
