(Batesville, Ind.) - The City of Batesville cut the ribbon on new playground equipment at Liberty Park on Friday, May 18.

The playground is specifically designed for children ages 2-5 and offers age-appropriate play to test their motor skills, strength, agility and more. The remaining playground equipment is age-appropriate for the 5-12 age group.

“We want to maintain Liberty Park as a family-friendly experience for the entire family and this new playground set is a testament to that,” said Batesville Parks Commissioner Mike Baumer.

The installation of the playground and resurfacing was made possible through generous grants from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, John A. Hillenbrand Foundation and Batesville City Council. The project cost approximately $60,000.

“We are fortunate to have the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, John A. Hillenbrand Foundation and City Council who support recreational opportunities for our children and this project would not have happened without them,” said Mayor Mike Bettice.
