(Batesville, Ind.) - The City of Batesville is boasting two new murals.

World-renowned street artist Montague created the murals as part of her #WhatLiftsYou movement that combines the power of art with social media to create an uplifting experience online.

Montague, of Colorado, has painted nearly 300 murals around the world, including London, Hong Kong and Dubai.

Her latest murals can be found in downtown Batesville at Miss Shannon's Music Studio and the Hill-Rom Training Center.

The first mural depicts a tree swing, while the second mural shows monarch butterflies.

“These murals bring a pop of color to downtown and will hopefully attract more people to Batesville and they can see the other great attractions the city has to offer,” said student Brayleigh Patterson.

The murals were commissioned by the Mayor's Youth Council, Batesville Main Street, Ripley County Community Foundation, Hillrom, Gillman Home Center, Batesville City Council, Enneking Painting Company and private donations.

“The Ripley County Community Foundation is proud to support Batesville Main Street in its efforts to keep the community vibrant. The mural is a great addition to Batesville, and revitalizes a busy intersection further beautifying the downtown area. This piece brings social opportunities for all and will welcome additional creativity in the future,” states Amy Streator, RCCF Executive Director.
