(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The polar vortex is relaxing its grip on the tri-state, but that doesn't mean we are in the clear just yet.

National Weather Service forecasters say one to three inches of fresh snow will be on the ground Friday morning before high temperatures reach into the 30s after two days of dangerous, sub-zero temperatures.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10:00 a.m. Friday.

The snowfall in some areas has been enough to cover the roads in slush and ice. It has also forced most local school districts to cancel classes. Find our list of closings and delays here.

It'll get warmer over the weekend with highs in the 50s by Sunday.
