(Florence, Ky.) - Two people out on bond for a scrap metal theft are back behind bars in Boone County.
Ira Boles, 34, of Covington and his cousin Jessica Boles, 28, of Ludlow, were arrested for allegedly taking 500 lbs. of scrap from ZF Steering in Florence in December. They had bonded out of jail as they await trial on those charges, but are in trouble again for a similar crime.
Deputies working with the Boone County Sheriff’s Scrap Team have tied the couple to a more recent theft at Augar Metals, 10208Toebben Drive in unincorporated Boone County.
The Boles and a third suspect – William Cain, 37, of Elsmere – broke into a fenced area and removed scrap metal
Cain and Ira Boles are charged with Criminal Trespass 2nd degree, Criminal Trespass 3rd degree, and Theft by unlawful taking.
Jessica Boles was charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd degree and Receiving stolen property.
