Will Wheeler has spent the last year and a half completing a project that could save lives.
(Milan, Ind.) - A young man from southeastern Indiana has spent the last year and a half planning and fundraising for a community project that could save lives.
Through his Bee Alarmed Project, Will Wheeler purchased 150 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to put out in the local community.
He was honored on Monday evening at the Milan Volunteer Fire Department.
Wheeler was joined by supporters of his project. They are Dwayne Stanley, of Milan American Legion Post #235 Sons of the Legion, Kara McAdams, of Global Atlantic, Booker Kilburn, of Stedman Machine Company, and some Members of the Milan Volunteer Fire Department. Not Pictured is Brandon Baylor, of Merrilees Hardware.
"We would also like to thank everyone in the community who contributed funds to help with the cause," reads a statement from the Milan Volunteer Fire Department.
More details on how the detectors will be distributed will be shared at a later date.
