(Milan, Ind.) – Individuals from all over continue to flock to Milan in hopes of bringing home a huge cash prize.

The Milan American Legion Post 0235 has created quite the craze over their weekly Treasure Hunt.

With the jackpot now exceeding $1 million, more and more people are traveling to Milan and buying tickets in hope that their name will be called.

So how does it work?

Tickets are purchased for $1 each. On the back of each ticket goes your name, phone number and the number you want opened from the board.

Only one ticket gets drawn each week, and the number on the ticket will determine which treasure chest is opened on the board numbered 1-52.

One of the numbers will say jackpot, while all the other numbers on the board represent a certain dollar amount. For example, this past Monday, the winner took home $40 after opening #32.

If nobody wins the jackpot, the process starts over with participants purchasing new tickets for the next drawing.

If the jackpot comes up, the winner will receive the full jackpot if they are present. Winners who are not present will receive half of the jackpot.

It has gotten to the point where there isn’t enough parking for all the people in attendance, so free shuttle buses take attendees to and from the Milan schools parking lot.

Next week’s jackpot is $1,080,400.

Treasure Hunt tickets can be purchased at the Milan American Legion Post 0235 in the reception hall, the vending machine in the club room, and an additional vending machine outside by the flagpole. Only tickets with an ink stamp or handwritten information are considered valid.
