(Milan, Ind.) – A young lady from Milan is forging her future with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps.

Hailey Pippin, an 8th grader at Milan Middle School, is a Sea Cadet Seaman Apprentice, assigned to the Flying Tigers. The Sea Cadets program was established in 1962 targeting young people to build leaders of character.

The year-round program includes more than 6,400 cades across the Navy League and the Sea Cadets.

Earlier this month, Pippin participated in the Sea-Air-Space 2021 Expo, which is the largest maritime expo in the U.S. – gathering the U.S. defense industry and key military decision-makers together for informative educational sessions and more.

In a recent Military.com article, Pippin stated “home is in the Navy for me.”

The 13-year-old plans to stick with the program through high school.
