Meth Discovered When Deputies Check Into Suspicious Persons Call

Joshua Gotts has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana.

(Holton, Ind.) – A suspicious persons call led police to arrest a Ripley County man on methamphetamine possession charges.

Deputies responded to a residence on County Road 300 West south of U.S. 50 after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle and several suspicious males walking around a residence at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 31.

When they arrived, the deputies found Joshua A. Gotts, 35, of Holton, inside a vehicle. He was allegedly acting suspiciously, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

A deputy deployed K9 officer Czar. The police dog indicated the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.

Gotts was placed in handcuffs. As police were searching the vehicle, Gotts fled the area on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officers apprehended Gotts who was later transported to the Ripley County Jail.

Gotts has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Versailles Police and Rescue 69.
