(Burlington, Ky.) – First responders were dispatched to a school bus crash this morning in northern Kentucky.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the school bus driver had a medical emergency and went into cardiac arrest as the bus approached the intersection of Collier Lane and Hanover Boulevard in Burlington.
The bus continued across Hanover Boulevard and crashed into several trees in the backyard of a residence on Sherwood Court.
Deputies arrived in less than three minutes and removed the driver and immediately administered CPR.
In total, three students were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining students refused medical care on the scene.
The school bus driver, who was not identified, is currently in ICU.
All students onboard attend Cooper High School.
