Manchester Elementary Dismisses Early Due to Power Outage

The outage is expected to last into the afternoon hours.

(Manchester, Ind.) - Manchester Elementary School has let out early today due to a power outage. 

South Dearborn Community School Corporation made the decision after being told by Duke Energy that the outage could last until after 1:00 this afternoon. 

"Unfortunately, we cannot have school without power. We realize most likely don't have power at home, so a traditional eLearning day would not be possible. Since we already have your student(s), we will be sending work home with them for the day so that they don't miss a day of learning," reads a statement from the school corporation. 

Students began dismissing at 9:00.
