Man Found Guilty Of Murder in 2019 Florence Stabbing

(Florence, Ky.) – A Taylor Mill man has been found guilty of murder.

On Friday, a Boone County jury returned the guilty verdict against Ishmail Powell.

Powell was indicted on Murder, Attempted Murder, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in September of 2019 for his alleged role in a bar fight in Florence.

During the incident, Stephen Dodson, 31, was stabbed and killed. Another person was hospitalized with a stab wound.

The Boone County jury has recommended a 50-year prison sentence for Powell.

A sentencing date is unknown at this time.
