The workshops teach organizations about how to best carry out efforts for economic development and community engagement.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Nearly two dozen Indiana Main Street communities will participate in Community Transformation Workshops.

Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs today announced the 21 Main Street organizations that are being provided another resource to help strengthen their communities.

Locally, Main Street Aurora and Lawrenceburg Main Street will participate in the two-day workshop, which will help the organizations retain their accreditation through Main Street America.

The workshops, which will be held between March and December, also provide services to assist the organizations to define community-informed and market-driven strategies that can direct and strengthen its revitalization efforts.

“The Community Transformation Workshops are a great opportunity for our Main Street organizations,” said OCRA Executive Director Denny Spinner. “Each community can learn more about how to best carry out efforts for economic development and community engagement in their unique city or town.”
