Luhman Joins BCEF Board

(Batesville, Ind.) - The Batesville Community Education Foundation (BCEF) is pleased to announce the election of Nikki Luhman to its board of directors.

Luhman is a Batesville native and a 2000 graduate of Batesville High School. She attended Franklin College, where she obtained a degree in secondary education. While teaching full-time, she has continued to pursue additional educational goals, such as obtaining her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and licensures in administration, high ability, and English Language. She is currently employed at Greensburg Community Schools and is in her 22nd year of teaching.

Luhman lives in Batesville with her husband, Adam, and their three sons, who all attend Batesville Community Schools. Cael is an eighth grader at Batesville Middle School, Grant is a fifth grader at Batesville Intermediate School, and Lleyton is a second grader at Batesville Primary School. They are active in cross country, track and field, school reading challenges, K-Kids, band, student council, and ski club. All three sons are also in the Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Program. In her spare time, Luhman enjoys traveling, running, reading, and staying up-to-date on educational research.

“I have always admired how BCEF follows the research, thinks outside of the box, and acts as a trailblazer in bringing new ideas to southeastern Indiana,” Luhman said. “I look forward to being a part of this innovative group that greatly benefits learning at the Batesville Community School Corporation.”

The Batesville Community Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides additional funding for innovative learning opportunities that go beyond the basics in academics, athletics, and the arts in the Batesville public schools, enhancing the educational environment for all students. To date, BCEF has awarded more than $900,000 to the Batesville Community School Corporation and its students through grants, programs, and scholarships.
