(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A longtime teacher and beloved community member has died.

Mark Fletcher passed away on Saturday at the age of 74.

To most, he was known as Mr. Fletcher or “Fletch” for the more than 30 years he spent as a teacher for Lawrenceburg Schools.

During his time as a teacher, Fletch not only molded young minds, but he also mentored numerous student teachers.

Alongside his good friend “Pigskin” Pete Arnold, Fletch taught a joint Humanities class at LHS. Even when they were not teaching together, their classrooms were connected by a partition that was often opened to share a word of wisdom with the adjacent classroom and/or teacher.

Aside from teaching, Fletch enjoyed cars and computers and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

He was also a father to three and enjoyed spending time with his 11 grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow.

Due to COVID-19, all in attendance are asked to follow social distancing guidelines at all times and the wearing of masks or face coverings will be required.

Contributions may be made to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church’s Sister Parish.
