Local Unemployment Rates Rise Slightly In June

Ohio County's jobless rate stands at 3.4 percent.

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Local counties saw their unemployment rate increase slightly in June. 

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development released employment data for counties on Monday. 

Locally, Ohio County had the best unemployment rate last month at 3.4 percent, up from 3.2 percent a month prior. 

Dearborn, Franklin, and Ripley counties saw their jobless rate increase by 0.1 percent, while Switzerland County's unemployment rate remained unchanged from May to June. 

Of the five counties in the Eagle Country coverage area, four currently have unemployment rates below the state average of 4.1 percent.
