Local Student Honoring Local COVID-19 Workers With Mural

A fundraiser has launched to install this mural at two downtown locations.

(Batesville, Ind.) - A Batesville High School student is paying homage to front line workers of the COVID-19 pandemic.

BHS Junior, Olive Cerniglia, 16, designed the "In This Together" to display healthcare, public safety, manufacturing, logistics and education workers.

A fundraiser has launched to install this mural at two downtown locations.

“What inspired me to do the mural about first responders was the bravery of all these heroes. I admire the dedication of doctors and nurses who are on the front lines of the pandemic, but also recognize the others such as truck drivers and police officers who deserve a lot of credit too,” Cerniglia stated.

Rowland Graphics, who is donating the time and material for the project, will produce and install the murals.

“I’ve wanted to do something for the community and came across the awesome work of Olive and as a former BHS art student I thought it would be a great opportunity to help a local student display her talent while also promoting a message of togetherness,” Rowland Graphics owner Jimmy Rowland said.

If you would like to donate to the fundraiser, contact Rowland Graphics by emailing rowlandgraphics@gmail.com or calling (812) 212-4717.
