(St. Leon, Ind.) - A local couple is hoping to fund their upcoming wedding by winning a national competition.

Ethan Platen and Shelby Collins are in America's Favorite Couple Competition run by Colossal. Ethan graduated from Colerain High School in 2017, and Shelby graduated from East Central High School in 2019. They matched on Tinder during Shelby's freshman year of college, and have been together ever since.

Throughout their relationship, Ethan has been a great help for Shelby with her anxiety. She spent most of their years together without a drivers license because of it, and not only did Ethan pick up a heavy load of picking her up and dropping her off at college, but he also taught her how to drive. On the other hand, Shelby has supported Ethan on his career path and school journey.

They are currently in the Top 5 of the America's Favorite Couple Competition.

Every week, people vote online every 24 hours using a single free vote or they can choose to donate money to get more votes.

The money from the voting process goes toward Oceana and Los Angeles Food Bank. If Ethan and Shelby win, they play to use the $20,000 prize to start their lives together, which includes funding their wedding on September 19, 2026.
