(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation can offer free meals to all students starting today.
The school corporation’s Food Service Department will begin offering free breakfasts and free lunches to all students effective Monday, September 14.
The program is offered by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Seamless Summer Option.
Free meals will be offered through December 18 or as long as federal funding will allow. The free meal program does not apply for adult meals or extras.
Students may still pack their lunch, but also have the opportunity to get a free school breakfast or lunch as well.
The school corporation says “This may be a great opportunity for students to try our new menu items being offered this year.” A complete menu for the month of September can be found here.
Virtual learners will also be offered free meals.
Meal pickup for virtual learners will take place from 12:45-1:15 p.m. every Monday at the LHS cafeteria door. A meal request form must be filled out weekly by Friday at 2:00 p.m. in order to reserve meals for pickup.
Weekly meal pickup will include five breakfasts and five lunches.
