(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – If you bake delicious treats, donations will come.

Lawrenceburg Public Library District employees recently conducted a bake sale to raise funds for Friends of the Lawrenceburg Public Library District.

Due to COVID-19, the annual bake sale was forced to be conducted as an in-house bake sale.

Still, the bake sale raised over $584 with the funds going towards the library and its programs. The total donation doubled to over $1,169 dollars after a matching donation from the Lawrenceburg Public Library Services and Resources Foundation.

“I was completely shocked and surprised when I heard about the amount we had raised,” said April Nudds, Lawrenceburg Public Library District Public Services Team Leader. “I couldn’t be more proud of to work with such an amazing group of people who came together and made this happen for the Friends.”

Friends of the Library president Susan Ray said the effort by employees to raise money for the organization shows their commitment to the community.

“Like so many nonprofit organizations, the Friends of the Library has had to curtail much of our outreach and fundraising since March 2020, including our annual bake sale. As a result, we have experienced a sharp decline in revenue and new memberships,” said Ray.
