Lawrenceburg PD To Host "Get Hooked" Youth Fishing Tournament

The virtual fishing tournament will be held this weekend, June 26-28.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg Police Department is holding a virtual competition to get the youth in Southeastern Indiana out and fishing. 

All weekend long, kids living in Dearborn and Ohio are encouraged to grab their fishing poles and head to the waters to get the largest fish possible. Submissions will be accepted through Sunday, June 28 at 7:00 p.m. The fish must have been caught between Friday, June 26 and Sunday, June 28. 

There will be prizes including fishing poles, tackle, gift cards and more. 

Age groups will be split up into three separate competitions:

  • 8 and under
  • 9 to 14
  • 15 to 19

The four categories eligible for prizes will include: 

  • Largest Catfish
  • Largest Bass
  • Largest Panfish
  • Under 8 Smallest Fish

Rules throughout the event are as follows:

  1. Must be a resident of Dearborn or Ohio County, Indiana
  2. Fish must have been caught on June 26-28
  3. Rod and reel only, by boat or from the bank
  4. All fish measured with a tape measure/ruler from the tip of the nose to the tail with a photo of fish measuring device
  5. One submission per category per person. Please include child’s name and age with the email, photo of child optional
  6. All submissions must be emailed by 7 PM on Sunday, June 28

When you email a submission, competitors agree to allow LPD to use the photo and the winner’s name to be used on the LPD Facebook page.
