(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man will serve a 10-year sentence after violating a no-contact order.
Kevin Hemingway, 34, was facing battery charges on his pregnant girlfriend in Circuit Court where the Court entered a protection order for the victim.
He violated the no-contact order the day after it was entered.
Hemingway tried to make over 1,500 calls to the victim. He also made serious threats through calls and texts.
According to Court documents, on May 13, 2021, Hemingway pled open to Superior Court 1 Judge Jonathan Cleary to Count I: Obstruction of Justice, a level-5 felony, and Count III: Being a Habitual Offender. Judge Cleary sentenced Hemingway to five years (max six) for each offense.
Hemingway will serve his 10-year sentence at the Indiana Department of Corrections.
