Lawrenceburg Main Street Celebrates New Businesses, Successful Events in 2021

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Main Street’s mission is to continuously improve downtown Lawrenceburg.

The nonprofit organization is celebrating a strong 2021 that saw new businesses come to town, heavily attended programs and events, and improvements to residential and commercial properties.

Lawrenceburg Main Street uses a four-point approach to help create an inviting, inclusive downtown.  

Design

Some of the things you will find in downtown Lawrenceburg include murals, groom and bloom initiative along Walnut and High streets, holiday lights display, gravel lot with picnic tables across from Civic Park, and commercial and residential improvements.

  • $181,000 improved 39 residential and commercial properties
  • $468,000 in private investment improved the Downtown District

Economic Vitality

Two strategies used by LMS to maintain economic vitality include the Lawrenceburg Redevelopment Commission Investment Program and the Marketing Assistance Program.

The latter assists businesses with sustaining and growing their customer base through marketing. In 2021, eight new businesses were opened, and 32 new jobs were created in the downtown district.

Promotions

Downtown Lawrenceburg has become a great place to play throughout the year with several programs and events such as annual wine walks, Music on the River, Farmers Market, Winter Wonderland and more.

  • 80 programs and events with 43,000 attendees
  • 85 volunteers worked 450 hours

Marketing Initiatives

Lawrenceburg Main Street uses several tools to showcase attractions and events for visitors, including the creation of a new website in 2021 (www.downtownlawrenceburg.com).

Downtown Dollars and Farmer’s Market Cards and Market Bucks are used to encourage shoppers to return each week.

  • 330,000 Weekly Billboard Impressions
  • 800,000 Annual Radio Impressions
  • 258,000 Annual Print Impressions
  • 457,000 Annual Social Media /Website Impressions
  • 1,079 Instagram Followers up from 786 in 2020
  • 8,274 Facebook Followers - up from 6,628 from 2020
