Ky. Governor Approves Absentee Voting By Mail For Primary Election

Registered voters in Kentucky may request a ballot through an online portal.

(Frankfort, Ky.) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has signed an executive order allowing Kentuckians to utilize absentee voting by mail for the upcoming primary election.

The State Board of Elections will send a postcard to each registered voter informing voters of the ability and the process to vote absentee by mail in the June 23 primary election.

The governor’s plan will require a voter to request a ballot unlike other states that are mailing ballots without requests.

The State Board of Elections will create an online portal for voters to request a ballot.

Beshear’s executive order also allows for in-person absentee voting to begin June 8th.

The full executive order can seen below.
