(Harrison, Oh.) – Keeping your property clean and tidy has a way of keeping the neighbors happy.
The City of Harrison has instituted property maintenance codes that regulate tall grass, debris in yards, illegally parked cars and campers, structures in disrepair, and more.
When a complaint comes in, a code enforcement officer takes steps to notify the homeowner or business owner of their code violation.
Anyone who gets a knock on their door or finds a door hanger notification, typically has a week to address the problem.
A time extension may be given based on circumstances. However, if the problem is not addressed within an agreeable time frame a citation will be issued and a court appearance will be required.
The hope is that issues will be solved without citations and court appearances.
