(Dearborn County, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department mustache you a question.

Will you help support the Cops & Kids program?

Sheriff’s deputies are putting away their razors for No Shave November. The department has turned it into a fundraiser for Cops & Kids, a Laughery Valley Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #146 program which has local law enforcement officers take children from local needy families Christmas shopping.

Each member of the sheriff’s department has had to raise at least $100 in order to participate in No Shave November.

“The sheriff’s department has a strict facial hair policy, yet Sheriff Mike Kreinhop didn't hesitate to give his approval when the idea was pitched,” says Deputy Adam Ziegler.

Ziegler says fundraising has been a huge success so far, with more than $4,300 raised as of last week. When the fundraiser began, the deputies hoped to raise money to sponsor about 20 children for Cops & Kids. Now, they may be able to help as many as 50 area kids get Christmas presents.

“As donations started pouring in, several deputies far exceeded the $100 goal,” Ziegler says.

You can still make a donation to the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department No Shave November through Wednesday, November 21 by contacting any member of the department.

Donation checks may also be mailed to Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, ATTN: Adam Ziegler, Cops & Kids, 301 West High Street, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025.
